South African Council of Churches

South Africa Council of Churches (SACC) is an ecumenical body of 26 member churches committed to expressing together, through proclamation and programmes, the united witness of the church in South Africa, especially in matters of national debate and order. SACC has been an established partner of Global Ministries since 1968.  South Africa is plagued by a history of alienation, which is apparent in economic, gender, race, ethnic, religious, and political differences.  SACC’s ministry seeks to create acceptance and tolerance, truth, justice, and forgiveness throughout the nation.  They focus on issues of justice, reconciliation, integrity of creation, and the eradication of poverty for those who are spiritually, socially, and economically in need.
