Global Ministries supports the Loving People Wells Program sponsored by Zhengxie Friendship Association in Chuzhou City, Anhui Province, China. Poor inhabitants were carrying water in plastic bags over great distances. The Association reimburses villages for much of the cost of a well in their communities after the village has contracted with technical staff and water is secured.

The local communities have named their wells "Loving People," and they number them 1, 2, 3, and so on.  This name is posted on the well, for example, Loving People Well Number 5. The Loving People Wells Program has seen tremendous success and multiplication since 2002.  At the beginning of 2007, wells numbered 57, 58, 59, and 60 were inaugurated.  These particular wells were in the following communities: 

#57:   Dushan Villege, Huanigang, Nanqiao District, Churzhou City, 20.5 Meters deep, 75 Villagers are benefited.

#58: Muslim Village, Cang District, Dingyuan County, Churzhou City, 35 Meters deep, 380 Villagers are benefited.

#59: Guanshi Village, Cang District, Dingyuan County, Churzhou City, 30 Meters deep, 280 Villagers are benefited.

#60: Yangming Village, Cang District, Dingyuan County, Churzhou City, 35 Meters deep, 490 Villagers are benefited.

Word of these wells continues to spread, and now new villages approach Zhengxie Friendship Association for aid. Global Ministries continues to provide assistance for wells, with the remainder of the cost provided locally. Sponsorship of a well costs $1,000. Gifts for Loving People Wells may be made for any amount.
