Guadeloupe is an archipelago located in the Leeward Islands, in the Lesser Antilles. It is the first overseas region of France. As with the other overseas departments, Guadeloupe is also one of the twenty-six regions of France and an integral part of the Republic since 2007. As part of France, Guadeloupe is part of the European Union.

Tim Rose, a member of the United Church of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, serves the Protestant Reformed Church in Guadeloupe and Martinique as the Pastoral Assistant for Diaconal Ministries and as a Prison Chaplain.
He is jointly appointed by Global Ministries and the DEFAP (the mission agency of the Reformed and Lutheran Churches in France).
