Lloyd Van Vactor Fund

Philippines

The Lloyd Van Vactor Fund was established as a Wider Church Ministries endowment fund in 1993 in honor of Reverend Lloyd Van Vactor, in order to support the Theological Education Scholarship Fund of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP).

Reverend Lloyd Van Vactor and his wife, Maisie, served as mission co-workers of the United Church of Christ from 1954 until 1981.  They worked with the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) in the Mindanao area of southern Philippines.

After returning from the Philippines, Reverend Van Vactor served with the United Church Board for World Ministries (UCBWM) of the United Church of Christ, the predecessor mission body of Wider Church Ministries, in New York City. He worked in the administration and leadership of One Great Hour of Sharing and then, as UCBWM brought together its mission and service areas, he worked as the Associate to the UCBWM General Secretary.  Reverend Van Vactor served 1981 until 1992 in the UCBWM in New York, and then retired to Washington State.

Distributions from the Lloyd Van Vactor Fund support the Theological Education Scholarship Fund of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.
