GM Announces Mission Priority Positions and Receives a Funding Commitment

GM Missionary in El Salvador Gives Update on Flooding
Nick Green who serves with the Lutheran Church in El Salvador, shares in his blog: "News poured in from around the country. The damage was astounding. Over 150 dead, hundreds more missing, and tens of thousands who have lost everything. Delegations who had come early for the International Partner Encounter changed their plans to better understand these events. Consultation on Peace, Reconciliation and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula

UCC and Disciples' Muslim Dialogue Partners Respond to Fort Hood Tragedy
The United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) participate in Christian-Muslim dialogue through the National Muslim-Christian Initiative. The Initiative brings together several Christian denominations and American Muslim organizations. In the wake of the tragic shootings at Fort Hood, UCC and Disciples' Muslim dialogue partners issued statements denouncing the shootings. To find links to the different statements, click here:

Disciples Women Travel to Colombia and Venezuela
Twelve Disciples Women met in Miami, Florida on November 8 and 9 for a time of orientation and training in preparation for their Woman-to-Woman Pilgrimage to Colombia and Venzuela. Sheila Spencer from the Office of Disciples Women and Felix Ortiz, Global Ministries area executive for Latin America and the Caribbean, are leading the trip. The women will visit sisters from the Council of Evangelical Churches of Colombia (CEDECOL) and the Union of Evangelical Pentecostal Churches of Venezuela (UEPV)on their twelve day journey. Gourdet Travels to Congo with OGHS and WOC LeadersAfrica area executive, Sandra Gourdet, is leading a trip with Susan Sanders, team leader of the UCC One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS), Amy Gopp, director of Week of Compassion (WOC) and Eyamba Bokamba WOC board member.
