Philippines: Detained Pastor Ordered Released by Court of Appeals
Detained Pastor Berlin Guerrero was ordered released to the custody of his lawyers by the Court of Appeals (CA).  A United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP) pastor, Guerrero was abducted May 27, 2007 by elements of the Naval Intelligence Security Forces. He was allegedly tortured before being turned over to the Philippine National Police (PNP). Only then was he shown a copy of a warrant of arrest for murder charges.  Click here for the full story:

International Conference Addresses Religious Dimensions of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict
The need to "re-frame the religious dimensions" of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a key goal of a 4-day international theological conference in the Swiss capital, Bern. Beginning Sunday October 5, a one hour edited version of the Global Ministries Connecting Threads DVD series will be available to NBC affiliates for a 30 to 60 day period for viewing on their network.
