Oregon Region's Ecuador Fund Goal Reaches 50% Mark
Global Ministries received word last week from Reverend Doug Wirt, Regional Minister that Oregon Disciples have come half way to the regional church goal of $39,000 to support their mission projects in Ecuador! For the past two years, women's groups, Vacation Bible School groups, individuals and congregations have given generously to support this special project. The Oregon Ecuador Mission project provides funds for a chicken project in San Francisco, Ecuador, a guinea pig project in Guanando province, site of a major volcanic eruption, and a portion of the salary support for Blanca Puma, Executive Director of partner ministry, FEDICE, the Ecumenical Foundation for Integrated Training, Development and Education. Reverend Wirt concludes, "In spite of the recent economic challenges, we look forward to celebrating again after the second half of the goal is completed."
