MissionWorks/MMI Training Event Equips and Motivates Many to Tell the Story
The first week-end of October approximately 140 UCC and Disciples met in Cleveland to learn more about the work of Global Ministries so that they could go back to their congregations, regions and conferences to tell the story. Participants received updates from global partners, heard missionaries share their stories and lead worship, learned how their congregation, region or conference could be connected to God's mission around the world with the accompaniment of Global Ministries... Close to 70 of those participants experienced an intensive Ministries and Mission Interpreters (MMI) training event and completed an action plan which they are now carrying out in their context. Disciples Woman-to-Woman Trip to Israel-Palestine a Great Success
From September 28 to October 10, Peter Makari, GM Middle East and Europe area executive lead a group of Disciples Women with Gloria Hernandez of the Office of Disciples Women to visit partners in Israel-Palestine. The group grew in their understanding of the plight of Palestinian Christians as they listened to their stories and witnessed the difficulties they experience on a day to day basis. The women returned to the U.S. committed to tell the story of those that they met in their church presentations over the coming years.

Global Ministries Congratulates Amy Gopp on her New Appointment with WOC
The Global Ministries celebrates with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) the appointment of Amy Gopp as the next Executive Director of Week of Compassion beginning December 1.  We also express our deep gratitude for the work of Johnny Wray over the past 16 years and the support Global Ministries has received for the programs and projects of international partners. Week of Compassion also plays a vital role in providing funds for the Global Mission Intern program of Global Ministries, as well as, capacity building grants and critical presence programs around the world. The support global partners receive from Week of Compassion in times of disaster or emergency is also very important.
