In an August 7 letter to Secretary of State Clinton, coordinated by Churches for Middle East Peace, Christian leaders, including the Rev. Dr. Sharon Watkins (General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)) and the Rev. John Thomas (General Minister and President of the United Church of Christ), express "grave concern about the eviction of 50 Palestinians from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah section of East Jerusalem in the early morning hours of August 2, 2009."  The United Church of Christ and Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) are members of Churches for Middle East Peace.  Click here to read the full text of the letter.
