The Churches’ Commission for Migrants in Europe (CCME) is the ecumenical agency on migration and integration, asylum and refugees, and against racism and discrimination in Europe. Members are Anglican, Orthodox and Protestant Churches and Councils of Churches as well as church-related agencies in presently 18 European countries. CCME cooperates with the Conference of European Churches and the World Council of Churches.
This week, the European Commission released a report on An EU Framework for National Roma Integration Strategies up to 2020. Eurodiaconia, together with CCME and the Reformed Church of Hungary which hosted a consultation in February, developed an ecumenical contribution to the discussion, which was sent to the European Commissioners from the Commission’s Roma Task Force as well as various representatives of the Hungarian government working on Roma issues during the Hungarian Presidency of the EU.
