In a July 22 letter to Secretary of State Clinton, Churches for Middle East Peace Executive Director, Amb. Warren Clark, and Board Chair, James Fine, expressed distress at the resurgence of violence against the minority Christian community in Iraq.  This August, the State Department responded stating, "We share your concern and agree that the Government of Iraq must work to promote the rule of law and security for all Iraqis."  To continue reading the official State Department response, click here.
