During Pope Benedict's visit to Germany, the Pope has engaged with Protestant church leaders, including Rev. Nikolaus Schneider, head of the Evangelical Church in Germany (EKD).  Prases Schneider is a strong advocate for the UCC-UEK relationship of Kirchengemeinschaft, and has been both host to and guest of the UCC in Germany and in the US.
