The United Church of Christ, at its General Synod 27 held from June 26-30, 2009, in Grand Rapids, MI, dealt extensively with issues pertaining to the Middle East. Two resolutions were adopted, one on the situation of Iraqi refugees and one expressing friendship and solidarity with the people of Iran, were adopted with overwhelming support.
