Nicaragua Partnership Pilgrimage Report from David’s United Church of Christ, Canal Winchester, Ohio
Written by David Long-Higgins Upon reading the newspaper or watching the television or checking the internet, you may have noticed how easy it is to become overwhelmed or even despair. But instead, I am filled with hope and feel compelled to share why this is the case. Just days ago, I returned from a week long partnership pilgrimage to Nicaragua with 15 of our senior high’s and 5 other adults from David’s church through the People to People program of Global Ministries. We have traditionally called this a mission trip, but in many ways our experience was so much more than that. We went to Nicaragua as part of an ongoing partnership that the Central Southeast Ohio Association of the U.C.C. has with the Iglesia Mision Cristiana (Christian Mission Church in Nicaragua). This partnership grew out of our church’s mission trip to Nicaragua in 2006.
