On November 6th Shawnee Park Christian Church, Kansas celebrated Global Ministries Sunday. Pastor Johnny Lewis signed the covenant to be a "Global Mission Church." There was a "Potato Bar" following the worship service as a fundraiser for mission trips to Jamaica and Haiti.  Leisa Boerckel, Deb Morche and Den Morche will be going with a group to Jamaica in February 2012.  Mike and Sandy Allen will be going to with a group to Haiti in February 2012.   The congregation received over $800 in donations to be divided between the 2 mission trips. Groups and individuals in the church agreed to sponsor 5 children through the Global Ministries "Child Sponsorship" program. And the new church, Iglesia Cristiana Monte de Sion, held their first worship service at Shawnee Park on Sunday evening. A great day to put a face on the mission we do through Global Ministries.
