Pastors Pension Support Fund for the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe
The Pastors Pension Support Fund for the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe was established as a Wider Church Ministries endowment in 2002 by Global Ministries and the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe (UCCZ). Its purpose is to provide pension support to retired pastors and their families on an ongoing basis.
The economic situation of retired pastors and their families of the UCCZ is quite tenuous, as there historically is not a systematic system of pensions in place for these pastors. The UCCZ recognizes its responsibility to provide these pastors and their families with support during retirement. The situation of retired pastors is compounded by the periods of prolonged economic crisis suffered by Zimbabwe as a whole. The Pastors Pension Support Fund for the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe provides an opportunity for donors, especially constituents of the United Church of Christ and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), but not exclusively, to make contributions to a permanent fund that provides a Global Ministries partner church, the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe, with resources on an ongoing basis to provide pension support to its retired pastors and their families.
Additional contributions may be made to the principal of the Pastors Pension Support Fund for the United Church of Christ in Zimbabwe by check written to Wider Church Ministries and sent to:
WCM/Global Ministries
PO BOX 71957

Please include “Pastors Pension Support Fund for UCCZ” on the memo line of the check or in an accompanying note.
