Ideas for special giving projects for Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp Programs, and Other Fun Activities for Children and Youth

Greetings from Global Ministries!  We invite you to include Global Ministries in your plans for Vacation Bible School and Summer Youth events and camps.  These events are exciting times in the life of the church and can be a wonderful opportunity to introduce children, youth, and people of all ages to the global mission of the church.  There are a number of curricula that churches are choosing from for these programs, and Global Ministries will gladly assist congregations to supplement these different curricula with materials that provide a global perspective and are linked to vital ministries carried out by Global Ministries and its partners.

In addition to the commercially available programs, there are several VBS curricula available for download from Disciples and UCC related entities. 

NEW!  Journey to India: Kids to Kids Resources and Curriculum

Both denominations have been working jointly on a curriculum based on India for Kids to Kids.  Journey to India is available for download.  A music CD can be ordered for use with the Journey to India curriculum. See page 65 in the curriculum download for more information on ordering. 

The Indiana Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has established a partnership with the Mbandaka Region of the Democratic Republic of Congo and is offering their Congo Connection Curriculum free of charge from their website (www.indianadisciples.org/congoconnection.php).  

Disciples Home Missions' Refugee and Immigration Ministries and UCC Refugee and Immigration Ministries offer a Kids to Kids "Fill the Backpack" packet which can be downloaded from their website:  http://www.discipleshomemissions.org/RIM/KidsToKids.asp "Fill the Backpack" gives kids a way to be welcoming to refugees. These materials are being adapted for use with UCC groups as well.

  More projects for children
Global Ministries works in collaboration with our partners to provide food, basic health care, clothing, and in some cases housing, school fees, uniform, books and training, and livelihood opportunities to many poor and destitute children in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Europe.  Click above to see a complete list of projects that relate to children and youth.

All financial gifts for projects are sent in their entirety for the designated purpose to our global partners.  No administrative fees are taken from gifts to Global Ministries because of the faithful giving from our churches to Our Church's Wider Mission and the Disciples Mission Fund.
