68 Global and Christian Leaders Call for a Ceasefire and Peace

Leaders of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ, along with Churches for Middle East Peace, are among 68 Bishops and executive leaders from churches and denominations from across the world to convey the desperate need for the government of Israel to end the bombing campaign and ground invasion of Gaza immediately.

The Rev. Teresa Hord Owens, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the Rev. Dr. Karen Georgia Thompson, General Minster and President of the United Church of Christ, as well as Rev. LaMarco Cable and Dr. Peter Makari, Co-Executives of Global Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ, are signatories of the international letter. The letter was conveyed to the White House with a cover letter signed by the Rev. Dr. Mae Elise Cannon, Executive Director of Churches for Middle East Peace, on behalf of the board of CMEP.
