Mission in Residence
The Mission in Residence (MIR) Program, since 1998, demonstrates mutuality in mission. The MIR Program creates a deeper understanding of the work of our partners by facilitating visits to local churches from partners. It is designed to place these mission co-workers from our partner churches or organizations into American and Canadian churches, regions, conferences, assemblies, annual meetings and summer camps of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the United Church of Christ. If your congregation is interested in hosting a Mission in Residence co-worker, please email jsdarnell@dom.disciples.org.
It is our hope that experiencing the witness of a global partner will give your congregation new insight into how Christians around the world approach similar challenges and creative solutions to key issues facing the church even in our different contexts. The stories shared and mutual experiences broaden our vision of God’s work in the world. Most importantly, these experiences deepen the commitment of our congregations, camps, regions, and conferences to God’s mission in the world.
