Day of Prayer, Fasting, and Service: May 14

This Thursday, May 14, 2020 Pope Francis and The Grand Imam of Al-Azhar Sheikh Ahmad Al-Tayyeb have called for a day of prayer, fasting, and charitable works to end COVID-19. 

Several religious organizations in Lebanon, including the Forum for Development, Culture, and Dialogue and the Middle East Council of Churches, will be participating in this day of fasting. This act of spiritual solidarity is especially meaningful as it comes during the holy month of Ramadan. These organizations are also inviting participants to donate the money they would have spent on food to the people in need around us, as well as humanitarian organizations providing aid to those most impacted by the pandemic. You are invited to join in this multi-faith, international day of prayer, fasting, and giving (as you are able).
