Living Together – An Interfaith Mosaic – A Window

into the Religious Communities Living in The Land of The Holy One

Sabeel Ecumenical Liberation Theology Center invites you to join us for 9 nights to experience the reality of life in today’s Holy Land:

  • Worship with Palestinian Christians
  • Meet and reflect with Palestinian Christians and Muslims as well as with Jewish Israelis and internationals who partner with Sabeel in non-violent resistance against the violation of international and humanitarian law
  • Experience the realities of the Palestinian community living under Israeli Occupation: the Wall, settlements, checkpoints, confiscated land and demolished homes, refugee camps, and environmental degradation
  • Learn about the loss of civil and property rights of Arab Israeli citizens

WHEN: May10th – May 18th 2016 inclusive (9 nights)

NOTE: the program will begin on the morning of May 11th. (Check-in time at the hotel will be 2:00 p.m. on the May 10th- check out will be 1:00 p.m. on May 19th). We advise arriving some time in advance, to get acclimated before the program begins.

WHERE:
Nights in Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Nazareth with side visits to other sites
including the West Bank and to the Galilee holy sites

COST:  $1600 per person in a double room
            $1900 per person in a single room
An additional 100$ for registration after the 20th of March 2016

This cost includes a non-refundable registration fee of $300, all accommodations and meals for 9 nights, all transportation and honoraria during the visit. It does NOT include airfare, transportation to and from the airport, personal expenses and souvenirs, or travel insurance.
 
Extended Program: Witness and then Work for a Just Peace
led by Kathy Bergen & Joy Lapp

We are offering three additional days to the Sabeel Witness trip focused on advocacy and meeting with Palestinian and Israeli activists to specifically look at what can be done when you return to your respective countries. This will include one day in Jerusalem and two days based in Ramallah. Possible visits will include: Jerusalem Coalition, B’tselem, Sam Bahour, Omar Barghouti, Amira Hass, Zochrot, Coexistence Forum, Al-Haq, Women’s Coalition for Peace, as people are available. An additional $550 (extra cost for a single room) will cover these three days, including accommodation, food, honoraria and transportation,
