Update on the Morija Theological Seminary Textbook and Library Fund
The Lesotho Evangelical Church (LEC) is a long-standing partner of Global Ministries, founded in 1833. Current membership is estimated at more than 260,000 people. The LEC is comprised of 112 congregations. It maintains seven health centers and two hospitals in the health area. In education, the LEC is responsible for 563 primary and secondary schools, one Bible Institute, and one theological seminary.
It was a goal of the Morija Theological Seminary in Morija to purchase textbooks and library books as funds became available. There was some delay in acquiring the books since the bookstore had to order them from abroad. However, most of the books were delivered before the school year began in September 2013. At the present time, all of the books ordered have arrived. These books have helped to reduce the number of students who share textbooks. In some instances, where there were no books, there are now a few available that can be shared. As more funds become available additional copies of these books will be ordered. The books have also been of assistance to the professors in doing class preparations and assignments as they know their students have books available for reference. The additional textbooks have made learning easier for the students and aided the staff in their teaching.
The following books were ordered as determined by the Director and staff of the seminary: The Works Of Jonathan Edwards Volumes 1 and 2, Introducing The Old Testament, Introducing The New Testament, A Grammar For New Testament Greek, The New Interpreter’s Study Bible, The History And Theology Of The New Testament, and New Testament Survey.
Global Ministries appreciates special gifts that have come in to support the work of missionary Mark Behle, as this effort largely was funded from those gifts.
