A special celebration for 8 Church World Service/Global Ministries (CWS/GM) scholarship social work graduates among 135 SW students BATCH N. 4, who also hold a BA graduated from the National University of Laos NUOL, this year.
A special celebration for 8 Church World Service/Global Ministries (CWS/GM) scholarship social work graduates among 135 SW students BATCH N. 4, who also hold a BA graduated from the National University of Laos NUOL, this year. The celebration was held at Xuyen’s home on Sunday 8th September 2013. It was attended by 55 participants from different centers /agencies where they do practicum or volunteering including Donkoi, Udomphone, Nahay, National Children hospital, National Rehabilitation Center, Good Neighbors, Great Peace, Faculty of Social Sciences, MCC and NUOL.
A special inspirational message sent from Korea by NUOL’s lecturer, Ms. Souphinh who is studying PDH on Social Welfare was read by Chanthaly, year 4 student. Vonpaserd, on behalf of scholarship recipient expressed their appreciation for teachers at FSS, NUOL and CWS/GM. This also marks the 4th informal World Social Work Day in Lao PDR. These 135 students is the biggest group, and it will add to 250 Social work graduates of the past 3 years. So, the total of BA trained social & development workers in Laos as of this September will be 385.
Xuyen Dangers is a social work supervisor in Laos who trains Social work university students as interns in Donkoi Children Development Center.
