The Lord’s Prayer in Syriac, a modern form of Aramaic

In the Syrian Orthodox Church, services are in Syriac, a modern form of Aramaic, the language which Jesus spoke.

Gabrielle Worley is a GMI serving in Lebanon, where services in the Syrian Orthodox Church are in Syriac, a modern form of Aramaic, the language which Jesus spoke.  In this video you can listen to the Lord’s prayer as they say it in the Syriac language and the original language in which Jesus handed it to His disciples when he taught them how to pray.  In the video, the prayer is first said and then it is sung in the form of a hymn which they sing every Sunday in the church.
