Report from CONASPEH – March 2010
Honor and respect to Global Ministries, their churches or others who have made this ministry so great. The National Spiritual Council of Haitian Churches (CONASPEH) takes this opportunity to thank you for everything: love, solidarity, and Christian responsibility. This appreciation comes from our hearts, from the churches, from a people who never forget this great gesture, manifested and approved by Christ, our head, who is surely crying at this time.

PARTIAL REPORT
Honor and respect to Global Ministries, their churches or others who have made this ministry so great. The National Spiritual Council of Haitian Churches (CONASPEH) takes this opportunity to thank you for everything: love, solidarity, Christian spirit and responsibility. This appreciation comes from our hearts, from the churches, from a people who never forget this great gesture, manifested and approved by Christ, our head, who is surely crying at this time.
CONASPEH is the people, and the people are CONASPEH. I hope to see each of you in Haiti, especially our Presidents Sharon and Geoffrey, Co-Executives David and Cally, in order to thank them in a special way when they are in Haiti. With a heavy heart, and in spite of the trembling ground, I send you all an embrace of love and gratitude.
Be blessed.

Name: January 12, 2010 Emergency
Date: February 22, 2010 – March 4, 2010
Fund I: US $55,000
Fund II: US $7,000
We have formed three committees to respond to the emergency problems: the Distribution Committee, the Pastoral Visit Committee, and the Program/Reflection Committee. From there, we decided to divide the funds in the following manner:
I. The central offices of CONASPEH were completely destroyed, and all the debris/rubble needed to be cleared out to restart the activities of the organization and the work that was being done with the churches of Haiti. The sum of US $6,000 was given to the Haiti Demolition and Removal Company to clear out all of the rubble. These funds came from the US $7,000 that we received from Global Ministries, in the hand of Reverend Ortiz.
Second, US $1,000 was paid to the two secretaries, the administrator, and two school teachers from the Karen School in January.
II The $55,000 is being used as follows:
US $26,000 was spent on 46 tents, which have been distributed to 36 churches/schools and which can also be used for housing for the community. Ten tents are reserved for the CONASPEH School that will open on April 5, 2010, along with the Education Ministry.

III. US $20,000 has been used to purchase basic necessities (rice, beans, spaghetti, oil, canned sardines, toilet paper, and soap), and five-gallon buckets that serve to collect water and other items. Each family has received a bucket with these basic necessities estimated at US $20 each, which could possibly feed the family for two weeks.
With this first action, we have reached one-thousand families (1,000 families) – approximately fifty members in each church make up 700 people within the churches that were reached, and 300 people were reached in the centers where people from the community join together with the churches.
Each family represents at least 6 people.
IV. US $3,000 was used to transport the tents and the products that have been purchased and/or donated, to pay a driver, and these funds were also used to assemble the tents in different centers and churches.
V. US $1,000 are being used for the committee administration.
VI. US $5,000 have been used for 15 coordinators that have facilitated the distribution, local transportation, and distribution of the buckets.
