My Final Letter

My Final Letter

It is hard to believe that my time here is just about over. It has been an experience that I will never forget and I am extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to come here.

It is hard to believe that my time here is just about over.  It has been an experience that I will never forget and I am extremely grateful for having had the opportunity to come here.

Working at the college has been a complete joy.  The staff was so friendly and welcoming that I immediately felt like part of the family.  I will never forget the many hilarious tea time conversations that we had.

The college staff is a small staff that has gotten even smaller this year, which makes the work they do even more important and at times difficult. When certain things need done, like mailing out all the exam results, people often have to pause their normal projects to come and help in order to get them shipped out quickly and on time.  Things can get tough and extremely hectic at times, but they keep their heads up and provide what is needed for the many students.

TEE does such a great service to the people here and I feel blessed for having been a part of it this year.

While being here I have learned that South Africa is a beautiful country that is rich in culture and personality.  The people here may be having hard times, but from what I have seen, they still push on.  Even those who are hard up try and help others who are having an even worse time than them.

It is going to be hard to leave and I will miss many things about this amazing country and the people that live here.  I thank everyone again for having the opportunity to come and help at TEEC.
