Message from the South Africa Council of Churches after the Elections
Greetings from South Africa where we are still basking in the glory of once again having an election that makes us proud. On Saturday (May 9th) we had the inauguration of our new President. With all the dubious history that Pres ident Jacob Zuma brings, we can’t ignore his humility. The Christian Churches have been used in a very disconcerting way during this election campaigning. Our Central Committee meeting later this month will prayerfully deliberate on how we reposition our ecumenical witness in the prevailing context. We invite you be with the Committee in prayer as we deliberate..
