With Your Help Oh Lord Yes We Can!
Joel 2:28, 29
“Afterward I will pour out my Spirit on everyone: Your sons and daughters will proclaim my message; your old people will have dreams, and your young people will have visions. At that time I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women.”
Joel 2:28, 29
“Afterward I will pour out my Spirit on everyone: Your sons and daughters will proclaim my message; your old people will have dreams, and your young people will have visions. At that time I will pour out my Spirit even on servants, both men and women.”
Greetings from beautiful Chile! I have been in Chile for 8 months and the time has truly flown by! I have been blessed with a wonderful new Chilean family. Over the past 8 months, I have had the honor and privilege of serving with a faithful and loving people. My most recent work has involved working with GPS quadrants for the Shalom Center. This involves walking a lot of the 100 acres of land. God truly has blessed Chile with some of the most beautiful landscaping. It is as if God has laid a blanket of mountains, meadows, rivers and scattered flowers and fauna in just the right places! As I walk on the camp ground it is easy to feel God’s spirit. It has helped me to reflect on nature, the environment and the many opportunities God gives each of us. I believe that God does pour out God’s spirit over each of us are called to be a prophetic person. We need our dreams and our visions so that the kingdom of God can become a reality on our earth and in our time. All we need to do is know that: WE WILL BE ACOMPANIED BY GOD WHEN WE SAY: WITH YOUR HELP OH LORD YES WE CAN!
For us to become that people that God calls us to be and to reach our dreams and visions we need to be persistent and we need to have a new perspective of God. One person who has shown this persistence and perspective is Elena Huegel. She is Common Global Ministries Missionary in Chile for 12 years and the work that has been accomplished here is amazing! God has truly blessed her with vision for this ministry. She has helped other Chileans dream about what this Center could mean and together they have made this dream a reality. Together they have developed a vision for the Center. It is a place of gathering on 100 acres of Vilches, a camp where people from all over the Pentecostal Church of Chile(IPC) and the world come to heal their relationships with God, their relationships with God’s creation, their relationships with one another, and their relationships within themselves. To think that only 5 years ago the IPC had no camp, and today through God the Church has a place where there are young leaders being developed for the future of this Church. When we remember that through God all things are possible we know that WE WILL BE ACOMPANIED BY GOD WHEN WE SAY: WITH YOUR HELP OH LORD YES WE CAN!
One of the most spectacular places at the Shalom Center is a trail. This trail is truly a trail of healing! It reaches a beautiful waterfall where one can feel harmony between creation and humanity. In one of my first camps we had a local congregation at the Center. I remember an elderly brother in particular that helped me to better understand the elderly in the IPC. This man is at least 70 years old. In spite of his age, this brother had an overflowing joy that was contagious to all of us present at the camp. He ran and jumped to all of our activities! When I saw him walk that trail and to see how touched he felt by the healing presence of God, I felt a great happiness for him and his church. And it made me think of what again think of what the profit Joel says: “And the old people will have dreams.” I know that this man has dreams for his church. He knows that HE WILL BE ACOMPANIED BY GOD WHEN HE SAYS: WITH YOUR HELP OH LORD YES WE CAN!
Our dreams and visions are able to become reality when they are focused on God. As Christians in the world today we must be a prophetic people! We need these visions and these dreams so that the kingdom of God will continue to become a reality! God has given us dreams and visions to make that kingdom a reality! For each one of us it is important to have a dream or a vision, there are no exceptions, there are no single invitations, it is for everyone: Young, Old, Man, Woman, Chileans, and North Americans! Please continue to pray for this dream and vision!
AND WE KNOW THAT WE WILL BE ACOMPANIED BY GOD WHEN WE SAY: WITH YOUR HELP OH LORD YES WE CAN!
May God bring you Shalom,
John Baudilio Chavez Wallace.
