{mosimage}Margaret Kennedy Cherryhomes (1921-2006), former missionary to China and Thailand, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2006. Margaret was born in Jewell, Kansas, went to high school in Fayetteville, AR and finished college at Yale Divinity School.
In 1945 she married George Thomas Cherryhomes. Both were ordained ministers of the Christian Church Disciples of Christ, and together, Margaret and George were missionaries in China and Thailand in the late 1940s.
She continued her ministry as a minister’s wife in the nineteen fifties, sixties, and seventies and was very active in co-ministering to various pastorates in Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado. In Denver she was employed by the Colorado University Medical Center and was associated with the Kempe Center and the International Journal for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.
Margaret and her husband remained active supporters of global missions over the decades. Margaret will be missed by all who knew her.
