From March 10-13, 2006, over 900 people from all walks of life convened on Washington D.C. to take part in the 4th annual Ecumenical Advocacy Days. They were interested in learning more about issues and advocacy by listening to speakers, attending workshops, and doing hands-on advocacy with staffers of the U.S. Congress.
Each participant of Ecumenical Advocacy Days chose one of eight tracks to attend. The Asia Track focused this year on issues of human rights in the Philippines, and issues of U.S. relationships with China. This year the Asia Track had a record number of people sign up for the track, and an even larger number attended some of the sessions. This was a source of excitement for many of the leaders and participants in the track.
The Asia track had a broad array of presenters, from both the United States and abroad. Some of the presentations and supporting documents on the Philippines can be accessed from this website below.
