Support Congressional Action on Darfur
Tell Congress to Pass the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act
Tell Congress to Pass the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act
Both Congress and President Bush have declared genocide to be taking place in Darfur, Sudan. But the U.S. and international community have failed to take sufficient action to stop the killings and provide protection for the people of Darfur. Congress can advance the cause of peace by passing the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act (S.1462 and H.R. 3127). This legislation supports the expansion of the African Union mission in Darfur to include more peacekeeping troops, receive fuller support from the international community and be given a stronger mandate to fully protect civilians.
