Northern Colorado Chapter of the United Nations Association-USA honors Paula and Tom Dille
It is with great joy that Global Ministries announces that the work of the Dille/Dunbar Fund, established by Thomas and Paula Dille and Nancy and Wayne Dunbar with Global Ministries, was honored by the Northern Colorado Chapter of the United Nations Association-USA. The Dille/Dunbar Fund is recognized for its mission to ease the way for women in Angola returning to farms, villages, and cities after nearly three decades of civil strife through the establishment of schools for young Angolan women in several rural areas of Angola. In a letter announcing the award, the Northern Colorado Chapter of UNA-USA writes: “Your efforts in support of women who embody Angola’s future as the caretakers and breadwinners for their families serve as a model for humanitarian assistance across the globe. Your work is exemplary of critical United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals, including: to end poverty and hunger and to establish gender equality.”
With the assistance of the Dille/Dunbar Fund, the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola, through its Department for Social Assistance, Studies and Projects, five schools have been established as well as other capacity-building efforts in areas of literary, health, sewing-skills, agriculture, human rights, and micro-enterprise.
A special meeting was held on April 9,2011, in Fort Collins, Colorado, during which Paula and Tom Dille presented a program highlighting the unique character of these humanitarian efforts on the African continent by the Global Ministries Dille/Dunbar Fund.
