Prayer Alert for the Republic of Uganda
From the All Africa Conference of Churches
Dear brothers and sisters in the ecumenical family,
Ecumenical greetings and happy New Year 2021 from the All Africa Conference of Churches (AACC).
In its pursuit to accompany the church and people in countries in their search for sustainable peace, justice and democracy, the All Africa Conference of Churches would like to remind you to continue holding the Nation of Uganda in the light. Uganda went to the polls on January 14, 2021 for presidential and legislative elections after a troubled campaign marred with protests, violence and killings, amid crackdowns on opposition rallies as well as repeated intimidations and arrests of opposition figures. We praise God reports say the voting day was with no major incidences.
Concerned about peace, and as a way of expressing our solidarity with brothers and sisters in Uganda, the AACC invites you to commit the Republic of Uganda in prayers. Please pray for:
- God’s shalom to prevail after the elections
- People, especially the political leaders and candidates to accept the election results and avoid any usage of violence
- Uganda to get the right leaders of God’s choice who fear him and who will lead the country for the wellbeing of its citizens for God’s glory
May the God of life hear our petitions and supplications for Uganda.
“And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Ephesians 6:18
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Fidon MWOMBEKI
