Global Ministries is saddened to learn of the death of Dr. Inés Sarli.
Dr. Inés Sarli passed away on February 5, 2024. She served as a mission co-worker and was appointed to a 3-year term as International Associate serving as director of Friendship Mission in Paraguay. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 8th, 1934, Inés attended the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, earning her M.D. in 1969.
In 1973, she specialized in pediatric medicine and would later serve as Chief of Pediatric Services for the Chaco Province Government in Argentina from 1979 to 1987. She was a health educator and promoter for Ecumenical and Christian organizations in Argentina until 1995.
In 1995, The DOM/UCBWM Board, a precursor to the Common Global Ministries Board, appointed her as director of Friendship Mission. In her role, she continued to focus on children’s health, particularly public health-related issues. She expressed, “Friendship Mission is determined to continue helping abandoned children,” in one of the many articles about Friendship Mission’s role in Paraguayan communities.
She was a member of El Buen Pastor, Disciples of Christ Church in Argentina. Dr. Sarli has two children, Miriam and Pablo.
