Prayers for Zambia

We pray for our nation, Zambia, as it struggles with climate change. More than 6 million people are experiencing hunger due to low rainfall patterns that have affected food security. Internal political wrangles also affect the coexistence of political parties, as others feel their space is shrinking.

We continue to face an electricity deficit as well, with some parts of the countries experiencing up to 12 hours of load shedding due to the effects of climate change and low water levels.

In all these things, the Church is a critical voice in bringing to the attention of the Government the voice of social justice. The voice of the poor is the voice of God.

Pray for the Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (TEEZ) and its Member Churches to speak boldly and raise awareness on issues of social, good governance, and social economic development for the good of humanity. We need to see fairness and justice in all spheres of governance.

Pray for the TEEZ secretariat to continue working with the TEEZ Dream House and Counseling Center to create safe spaces for its Tutors, Counselors, caregivers, clients, and staff as they seek ways of promoting human dignity.

Mission Moment from Zambia

The Theological Education by Extension in Zambia (TEEZ) is glad to have this existing and flourishing partnership with the Global Ministries. Through this partnership, TEEZ can fulfill its vision of ‘Preparing all God’s people for works of Christian Service’ (Ephesians 4:12).

To achieve this vision, TEEZ exists to equip Christians with relevant theological and social development tools and knowledge through non-residential theological and community development training for effective participation and service for a vibrant and healthy Church and the world. There has been an increase in the number of Church leaders and Elders graduating in the Timothy Leadership Training to go and teach others as enshrined in 2 Timothy 2:2. Leaders are becoming more committed to the ministry of their local Churches. In 2023, we commissioned 497 church leaders and members to become Basic TLT Facilitators and Advanced Facilitators. The testimonies, such as supporting a child without limbs by one of our TEEZ Advanced Facilitators, Mr Victor Makondo of United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Busokololo Congregation, Chawama, Lusaka to access artificial limbs are amazing stories that show God at work through the ministry of TEEZ among local churches. “What a great joy to see a child smile. It reflects Jesus’ saying that the kingdom of God is of such; hence, we should bring them to the Lord,” states Mr. Makondo.

There has been a significant change among local churches and communities due to the ministry of TEEZ. Churches continue to record growth and effective ministry due to God’s work. Pastors and communities are experiencing social and economic transformation.
