Church of Christ in Congo Statement on Humanitarian Situation in North Kivu
Global Ministries received a statement from the Church of Christ in Congo (Église du Christ au Congo or ECC) regarding the current security and humanitarian situation in Goma, located in North Kivu Province, Democratic Republic of Congo. The situation in the eastern region has worsened due to a recent escalation of violence by the March 23 Movement (M23) rebel group.
The ECC is working with North and South Kivu church leaders to support refugees and respond to crises. However, communications have been challenging due to internet disruptions in the region. Global Ministries continues to offer prayers, accompany our partners, and support the ECC’s ministry with displaced individuals and families during this difficult time.
