Amity Earthquake Relief Effort from Chengdu, China Dated: 6/4/2008

Ms. Liu, coordinator for the Administration Division of the Amity Foundation is taking on the task of supply distribution collected by “The New Hump” Campaign that originated in Shanghai.  After the earthquake, a number of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Shanghai united and launched the “New Hump” Campaign to raise supplies from enterprises and individuals.  Supply transports are made available by companies free of charge.  This campaign marks a new era in NGO collaboration.

 

Goods are arriving in Mianyang and Mianzhu, where Amity worked previously after the quake.  For the next 8 to 10 days, Ms. Liu Ling will coordinate and distribute supplies to victims of the earthquake.

 

Recent donations for the benefit of earthquake victims include 477,000 Yuan granted by the Sihong City TSPM/Christian Council.  The donation was made while attending the Jiangsu TSPM/CC conference held Friday, May 30, 2008. All donation monies will go to the Amity Foundation for relief work in the SichuanProvince.
