Announcement Regarding Haiti Missionaries

Global Ministries regrets to announce that Kimberly and Patrick Bentrott will conclude their service with Global Ministries as of September 30, 2010. The Bentrotts have been engaged in a process of adopting their two children, Solomon and Valancia. The adoption has been completed, however, they are waiting for the official court documents. The children will need official travel documents in order to leave the country and at this moment, it could take weeks, months, or up to two years in order to obtain them.

Dear Friends of Global Ministries with mission connections to the work of CONASPEH and the ministries of Patrick and Kimberly Bentrott:

Global Ministries regrets to announce that Kimberly and Patrick Bentrott will conclude their service with Global Ministries as of September 30, 2010.  The Bentrotts have been engaged in a process of adopting their two children, Solomon and Valancia.  The adoption has been completed, however, they are waiting for the official court documents.  The children will need official travel documents in order to leave the country and at this moment, it could take weeks, months, or up to two years in order to obtain them.  They, therefore, say, “For all the reasons stated, we are beginning to think that we need to take a leave of absence and move on with our lives in order to establish some stability for our children and allow time for all the paperwork and citizenship to be granted.”   They are heartbroken by this decision and hope to continue to work on issues of advocacy related to Haiti.  Global Ministries is very grateful for the work of the Bentrotts and wish them all the best in their future work and life in the United States.  We ask that you continue to pray for them as they explore employment opportunities and a home for their family.

Global Ministries is very grateful for the special gifts that made Patrick Bentrott’s missionary appointment possible (Kimberly’s appointment was covered with resources from One Great Hour of Sharing of the United Church of Christ).  Your gifts designated for Patrick’s appointment are being used in their entirety in his support.  Future gifts that arrive to Global Ministries designated for the missionary appointment of Patrick Bentrott will be set aside to provide missionary appointment support of the new persons in mission who will serve with CONASPEH.
