Bible and Flag Return to Inanda Seminary
Greetings from the Inanda Seminary!
On Friday, 16 September 2011, the staff of the Killie Campbell Library will be present at the historic Inanda Seminary to officially hand over to the school the Bible of the Reverend Daniel Lindley. Lindley was an American Board Missionary to the amaZulu, Boers and British colonists in the 19th century. Daniel Lindley and his wife, Lucy, co-founded the school in 1869.
The staff of the Campbell Library will also hand over to the Inanda Seminary a handmade USA flag. This was made by refugees at the Inanda Seminary during the South African War to show the school’s neutrality.
The school will meet for morning assembly at 7:30 a.m. to recognise Campbell Library’s faithful stewardship of the school’s artefacts for many decades. Staff and students of Inanda Seminary will be present as well as representatives of its Board of Governors.
