The Convention Association of Christian Mission Churches of Nicaragua is the denominational structure of Protestant and Pentecostal churches in Nicaragua, whose mission it is to respond to God’s call to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through religious, social and cultural means that promote the intellectual, moral, spiritual, economic, and cultural development of humankind.  Under its motto:  By leaving our unmistakable mark and through making decisions, we shape our future, the Christian Mission Church functions in both rural and urban areas, addressing the religious, social and cultural needs of its people through the emphasis of knowledge and faith in Jesus Christ, and a personal experience with God that moves to a life of practical witness.  The ChristianMissionChurch strives to generate and execute programs that will bring sustainable development, address emergencies, promotes unity, equality and justice, while seeking to continuously improve the economic level of its members and communities.

A significant portion of the responsibilities of the national expression of the ChristianMissionChurch is in accompanying local congregations and communities.  Visits were made by national board and staff to local churches immersed in their church growth, pastoral and educational ministries.  The national staff also worked with local churches on projects which provide ministry and service to the poor and needy of Nicaragua.  Among these projects in 2008 are:

  • Life, Faith and Light Program:  this program is sponsored by the SeventhChurch and serves 228 children, 70% of whom are from the community, with 30% from SeventhChurch.  The programs provide meals and basic health care to the children.  FirstChurch also serves 140 children through the program Life, Faith and Light Program, 80% of whom are from the community, with 20% from the local church.
  • The SecondChurch opened the ReverendMarcelinoDavilaSchool, including a primary and preschool program in 2008.
  • SixthChurch continues working with the preschool program, Tree of Life, with 82 students.
  • ThirdChurch continues with its elementary school.
  • FifteenthChurch closed its community preschool program; but on the other hand worked on the building of a parsonage.

New Projects and Proposals during 2008:

  • Housing Construction Project of North Kukalaya:  This project helps those affected by Hurricane Félix to build basic housing.
  • Plans are in place to complete the building of the Administrator House.
  • Emmanuel Training and EducationalCenter in Ticuantepe continues to be a focus of much effort and activity for the ChristianMissionChurch.  The Center is located in a water-rich agricultural region near Managua known for its pineapples.  The Center currently is a two-story structure with classrooms, sleeping rooms, and an activity center.   Current plans to improve the Center include the building of the EmmanuelCenter wall that will provide security and aesthetics to the Center.
  • The Mayor Waslala Cattle Farm Project continues forward.  This project is moving toward providing infrastructure and grazing improvements to the farm.  These improvements will enhance cattle nutrition, improve the economic standing of the local churches as more cattle may be kept, and thus distributed to the families in need who receive cows for commercial use of dairy products.

The Christian Mission Church of Nicaragua participates actively as a member of the Latin American Council of Churches (CLAI), the Ecumenical Center of Theological Studies (CIEETS), the NicaraguanProtestantUniversity, the Pro-Alliance Council of Protestant Churches (CEPAD), and the Protestant Cooperative Savings and Loan (CEDAC).  They also coordinate activities with the Lutheran Church of Nicaragua.
