Lloyd Van Vactor Fund

The Lloyd Van Vactor Fund established as a Wider Church Ministries endowment fund in 1993 in honor of Reverend Lloyd Van Vactor, in order to support the Theological Education Scholarship Fund of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.

Reverend Lloyd Van Vactor and his wife, Maisie, served as missionaries of the United Church of Christ in the Philippines 1954 – 1981. They worked in the Mindanao area of southern Philippines; half of the time in an area that was predominantly Roman Catholic and half the time in an area that is predominantly Muslim.

After returning from the Philippines, Reverend Van Vactor served in the New York office of UCBWM. He worked in an administrative and leadership position in relation to One Great Hour of Sharing and then, as UCBWM brought together its mission area and its service areas, he worked as the Associate to the General Secretary. Reverend Van Vactor spent 1981 until 1992 in the UCBWM Offices in New York and then he retired and moved to Washington State.
