An Easter Message from the General Secretary of the Middle East Council of Churches, Global Ministries partner in the Middle East

“I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die.”

The Celebration of the unique and sublime event of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ is drawing near. We, all Christians around the world, will rejoice by once more becoming intensely aware of the victory of our Lord over death.

The bells of the churches around the world will be ringing loud to announce that “He has been raised: He is not here” (St. Mark 16:6). These words, first pronounced by the angel at the empty tomb, have echoed all over the world and still echoing in every corner and for all times.

In the midst of so many atrocities openly committed by the powers of sin and death, of so many acts of injustice and violence which disfigure human beings and creation, we praise God because in Christ’s resurrection darkness is reversed by light, death by life, hatred by reconciliation, sin by forgiveness, the reign of the evil by the reign of Christ.

With the Joy of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, I greet you in brotherly love and ask the Risen Lord to grant you the blessings of good health, an ever-increasing renewal in the faith of the Resurrection, and a greater apostolate for the Gospel of Christ.

It is in this joy and delight; we send to you this brotherly message. “Christ is risen from the dead.” We congratulate you and the members of your organization, we pray with all our heart that Almighty God, will bless, protect, and grant health and prosperity to you. May He also deem all of you worthy to celebrate His live-giving Resurrection for many years.
