Richard Hull, interim pastor of St. Nicholas Park Christian Church in Jacksonville, FL recently visited the Christian Hospital of Mungeli, India. Anil and Teresa Henry are medical doctors assigned to the hospital as Global Ministries missionaries and serve in partnership with the Church of North India.
During the Henry’s service, the Christian Hospital of Mungeli has increased medical care in the number of patients and types of service. A newly acquired CAT-scan machine will soon be operational and the development of a radiation therapy program is in process. The hospital runs a School of Nursing which is in its third year and has also given leadership to the revival of an English Medium School.
During his visit, Pastor Hull presided at the rededication of The Diamond Ward which has been refurbished to serve as hospital staff housing. The Diamond Ward was built in the 1930’s through the efforts of former missionary Eva Alice Springer, a widow who sold her engagement diamond to finance the building.
Hull visited the hospital ten years ago just as the Henrys were beginning their first term of service. “The progress in medical care and the impact on the surrounding community is a great testimony to ‘The Healer’ whom we serve,” said Hull.
Hull was traveling with two Bethany College classmates, friends for over 40 years. Bethany is a Disciple-related college.
