Grand Avenue Christian Church holds barn sale to support solidary efforts with global partners in Colombia.
After several members of Grand Avenue Christian Church in Bozeman, Montana had downsized their homes in recent years, they began to recognize they each had excess furniture and other belongings they wanted to put to good use. One long-time member, Frank Carter, suggested holding a sale in his barn with the proceeds being donated to ministries supported by the congregation. Because of the close connection of several members to Colombia, a majority of the proceeds were designated for Global Ministries partners in Colombia. This gift was part of a special solidarity campaign seeking to support partners in Colombia participating in national protests calling for justice for the Colombian people.
Members of the church worked for several weeks to set up the barn sale which included multiple furniture items, appliances, dishes, kitchen utensils, books, vases, a grill, antiques, tools, farm implements, a truck camper shell, a refrigerator, tables, chairs, benches, toys, Christmas decorations, tires, and even a full-sized pig roaster. All the preparation paid off when the sale was held on Saturday, May 29th and it raised nearly $2,000.00 to support ministry in Colombia.
