Haiti Earthquake Response Update
As of May 19, 2010, Global Ministries has disbursed to its denominational partners in response to the January 12, 2010 earthquake:

- $519,421.13 to CONASPEH for Emergency Response and Recovery phases, as detailed in its two published plans of CONASPEH Emergency Response and CONASPEH Recovery (http://globalministries.org/lac/projects/conaspeh-recovery.html and http://globalministries.org/lac/projects/conaspeh-recovery-II.html). In addition, $3,875.32 was disbursed in the form of purchased equipment and related expenses.
- $114,780.00 to House of Hope, including funds toward a down payment of their new locale as detailed in their published plan (http://globalministries.org/lac/projects/house-of-hope-haiti.html).
Sources of revenue for these resources include:
- $175,000 from One Great Hour of Sharing (UCC) — $22,500 for House of Hope and $152,500 for CONASPEH.
- $175,000 from Week of Compassion — $22,500 for House of Hope and $152,500 for CONASPEH.
In addition to funds received from WOC and OGHS, Global Ministries has received $277,298.96 (this amount changes daily as gifts come in and are processed) from donor individuals, churches, regions, conferences, and other organizations designated for Haiti Critical Presence 2010 in general, for CONASPEH or for House of Hope. Gifts to Global Ministries designated for Haiti Critical Presence 2010 include:
- $99,946 from the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea (PROK), a Global Ministries partner church — $29,982 for House of Hope Reconstruction (purchase of new locale) and $69,962 for CONASPEH Emergency Response and Recovery phases. PROK also has reserved for the future an additional $120,000 for CONASPEH Reconstruction (rebuilding of locale).
- $25,000 from the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Puerto Rico for CONASPEH Emergency Response and Recovery. In addition, the Disciples of Puerto Rico provided $10,000 in the form of the contents and shipping of the first containers of emergency aid to CONASPEH, together with the Puerto Rican Adventist service organization.
- $25,000 from Holt International of Eugene, Oregon, for CONASPEH Emergency Response.
Also included in Global Ministries disbursements to CONASPEH is $15,326 from the Global Ministries Child Sponsorship Program as a four-month advance sponsorship support for each of the nearly 140 children and their families ($100 to each), as well as administrative support to CONASPEH for its Child Sponsorship activities.
Designated gifts to Global Ministries are disbursed in their entirety for the purpose designated by the donor, thanks to local churches generous giving to the Disciples Mission Fund and Our Church’s Wider Mission (UCC).
