Job Opening: Resource Development Program Associate

Look no further, the Office of Resource Development for Global Ministries is seeking a dynamic team member to support revenue generating activities and fund development efforts.
At Global Ministries, we are a diverse team working together to support the mission of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ by joining with global and local partners to work for justice, reconciliation, and peace. The Resource Development team initiates, nurtures, and maintains relationships with current and potential donors to provide direct and planned gifts to Global Ministries which is a shared ministry of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and United Church of Christ (UCC).
The Program Associate is a valued team member that strategically manages donor campaigns, and development activities and carries lead responsibility in selected functions to help the organization meet its revenue goals. We are seeking an innovative team member that will develop new non-conventional sources and modalities of giving to Global Ministries.
What to Expect as Program Associate:
- Builds relationships with current and potential donors, with emphases on a) responding to fundraising relationships with Disciples and UCC congregations, middle judicatories, and racial/ethnic constituency ministries and b) implementation of new approaches to fundraising for program and missionary support
- Plans and executes fundraising campaigns, events, and programs, ensuring all necessary follow up and post-event reporting has been completed.
- Develops project/program funding proposals, reports, and communications.
- Assists with institutional and foundation fundraising efforts, identifies and promotes new unconventional, and innovative fundraising strategies.
- Assists and, at times, takes leadership in the development of digital and print material for fundraising/development efforts to be used in Resource Development, other Global Ministries, and other program activities.
- Coordinates social media strategies in consultation with the communication team and/or Executives.
- Meet regularly with Co-executives, Director of Strategic Engagement, and staff to discuss current and new funding needs
- Supports database manager for the Raisers Edge and Giving Fuel, with capacity to run giving reports, manage data entry, etc. routinely. This includes ensuring that all necessary data for end of year reporting is readily available to Executives upon request.
What You Will Bring:
The qualified candidate will have at least three to five years of fund development experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self-directed, and demonstrate a strong ability to work well with a wide range of individuals and groups.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated success in working in fundraising and donor development theory highly preferred.
- Background in development, fund-raising, and/or project interpretation.
- Proficiency with donor databases and websites is highly desirable. Blackbaud Raisers Edge and Giving Fuel use a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially as well as independently, exercising initiative with appropriate follow through.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, take initiative and follow-through.
- Be highly organized with the ability to implement systems and follow-up processes.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.) and database management skills.
- Overall travel expectation of 35-40% for a remote position, donor engagement, and staff development activities.
- Familiarity with the structure and work of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and/or United Church of Christ and the work of Global Ministries is helpful.
