“Let everyone who is thirsty come.  Let anyone who wishes take the water of life as a gift” Rev 22:17

Poem :

A
Drop
Of water
Opens my eyes
To the explosive
Possibilities of life!
Shattering on impact
Into a myriad life-giving
Droplets, it goes on
Sharing itself with
The world…

(Jean M. Sietzema-Dickson)

Call to Worship :

Jesus Christ is our living water,
Pouring forth grace towards us who grieve for what we have done.
Open your hearts to receive the life of Christ
And the renewing of grace for this day and the next.
We come.
We give thanks to God.

Poem :

God
A stream, a river,
A lake of crystal water,
A sea, an ocean wide,
Forever moving, forever alive!
He flows, trickling gently
In tangoed rhythm,
Chuckles through dry land.
Powerful,
He breaks granite rocks
And furrows mountains,
Thunders through the gorge
And brings gentle living
To a green-hope valley.
He stretches now,
Rests in a lake,
Still, silent, grey,
Pauses, gathers strength
Forges onwards
In endless waves
Crashing ashore.
White foam, mighty depths,
Blue green,
Changes as the sky.
Yet fountain high in light,
Darkest depth rises
To meet an endless day,
And pain meets joy.

(Elizabeth Von Leven)

Reading : John 2:1-11

Prayer :

Jesus Christ is our living water,
Pouring forth grace toward us.
We need the living water of God for our task in the world
O God, we pray give thanks for water, and pray we may be your faithful people. As we are restored by water, restore our world.
We are those who carry the love of God into the four corners of the earth.

We are the people born of God, brought to birth in the rush of water
Washed and sustained day by day in the beauty of water.

We see the wonder of the rivers and streams,
And the endless waves of the mighty seasOur faces are lifted up to receive the gentle rain and the miracle of the greening of the earth as it falls.

In all this, O God, we give thanks for your gift to us,And commit ourselves to move for the just sharing of them with others.
Let us give to each other, the water of life, to sustain and care for each other on the way.  In the love of God.

Amen

Let us break bread together.

John 7:37-38
