Some of the new churches springing up in China are not, technically, brand new. During the Cultural Revolution, churches were closed by the government and, when they reopened, members of the flock had died, moved, or fallen away. There may not have been a church building to reopen, and only a handful of believers. Sichuan province has a number of such “Mustard Seed” churches.
