Global Ministries is saddened to learn of the death of Margaret (Peg) Ann Lott Muenstermann
Margaret (Peg) Ann Lott Muenstermann
Margaret Ann (Lott) Muenstermann, 87, (known as Peggy or Peg) passed from this life into the arms of God on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. She was the seventh of the eight children of the late Margaret and Fred Wilbur Lott of Avon Lake, OH. She is survived by her younger sister, Nancy Lott Henry of Mungeli, Chattisgarh, India; her loving husband of 63 years, the Rev. Herbert (Herb) Muenstermann; and her three children, Paula Margaret Liotto, Lee Muenstermann, and Rickie Muenstermann.
Peg’s life was one of enduring service. She was a missionary in Ghana where she served through what today is Global Ministries for one school year with her husband, Herb, in the mid-1950s. In Ghana, she served with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church and taught English at a local school. In her classroom, she encouraged her students to teach her one of the indigenous languages, which created a memorable and pleasant learning environment.
Peg was a city councilperson for Leonia, NJ; a board member for the town of Leonia Public School system; an administrator of United Church of Christ Senior Housing in Downers Grove, IL; and, most recently, a town councilperson in Pleasant Hill, TN, where she and her husband have resided for the last 27 years at Uplands Village. Peg represented the Pleasant Hill Community Church at the UCC Southeastern Conference annual meetings in Atlanta and elsewhere during her retirement. She loved music, played in the Pleasant Hill ensemble, and she volunteered as a flute teacher to interested students.
A memorial service for Peg Muenstermann will be on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Community Church, 67 Church Drive, Pleasant Hill, TN 38578. Condolences may be sent to Peg’s husband, Herb Muenstermann, P.O. Box 168, Pleasant Hill, TN 38578. The family asks that memorial gifts be sent to Global Ministries, 700 Prospect Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115.
