As we rediscover and learn about the current realities and special ministries of partners and programs in the region during the Southern Asia Initiative, Global Ministries shares with you new special projects of partners in the region addressing the four themes of the initiative.

Affirming human dignity

Global Ministries works closely with a network of partners and programs who are affirming human dignity for all. Partners in Southern Asia are affirming human dignity by providing life-saving medical care, promoting opportunities for education and community development, and advocating for justice and human rights. During the Southern Asia Initiative, Global Ministries is highlighting the work of the following partners for this theme.

• House of Hope in Indonesia
• Empowering Children and Youth project of the CACM in Sri Lanka  
• Snehakunja Children’s Home of the Church of North India’s Diocese of Calcutta
• CSEI’s Promoting Social Equity and Inclusion for Youth in India

Urging churches to be open, just, and inclusive communities

Global Ministries works closely with a network of partners and programs who are urging churches to be open, just, and inclusive communities. Partners in Southern Asia are offering theological education, pastoral training, and helping Christian communities to live out their faith in congregations which are open, just, and inclusive communities. During the Southern Asia Initiative, Global Ministries is highlighting the work of the following partners for this theme.

• Christian Church of Sumba’s School of Theology in Indonesia
• Christian Theological Seminary in Sri Lanka

Caring for Creation

Global Ministries works closely with a network of partners and programs who are caring for creation. Partners in Southern Asia are training families and individuals on ways to build more sustainable communities in the face of climate change.
